What you first thought to be only a doll atop the piano turns out to be the cat from the train station, letting out a soft and satisfied meow as the song comes to its close. You stick around for a while and enjoy your coffee and one of the town’s famous parfaits while listening to the sentimental sounds of the band. When the music ends, the cat quietly makes its escape out the window by piano in one clean leap. You pay for your treats and decide to see where it goes.
The cat sees you approach, nuzzles against your leg, and prances at a walking pace in front of you, seemingly showing you her favorite spots around town; a dumpster, an alleyway, a garbage can by the train station, the fishing boats docked with nets full of fresh catches on their decks. It eventually, perhaps coincidentally, swings by the patisserie across the street from the hotel you’ve booked for your stay. You rub her furry ears as you part ways for the night.
